Here the English Premier League predictions for the week 05 of the 2014-15 season.
Aston Villa 1- 2 Arsenal
As one of our commentors pointed out last week that Aston Villa are not pushovers. In fact they did beat Liverpool (although we still think that it was because Sturridge was injured and Sterling didn’t start the game). As far as Arsenal are considered they are perhaps playing the worst football we have ever seen them play. Despite this we think that Arsenal will win this game because they still have quality in their side (Also some of us here are Arsenal fans which might or might not affect our judgement. Just kidding, we predicted a 0-4 loss for Arsenal against City last week).
Everton 3 – 0 Crystal Palace
Everton got their first clean sheet last week and won the match as well. Palace should resist but Everton are very good at Goodison Park and will come away with 3 points.
Leicester City 1 – 3 Manchester United
Ulloa, the Argentinian forward playing for Leicester City is in a rich vein of form already having scored 3 goals in EPL. On the other hand Manchester United have found their rhythm with their victory against QPR last week but Leicester are not QPR and Manchester United still have problems at the back. However we think that RvP, Rooney, Mata, Di Maria, Falcao, Harrera and company are going to be too hot to handle for the Leicester defenders.
Manchester City 1 – 1 Chelsea
It’s difficult to see how any team can beat Chelsea the way they are playing now but keep it in mind that this Chelsea version 2.0 with Jose Mourinho is not the same as the 2005-2006 Chelsea 1.0 with Jose Mourinho. They are scoring freely but they are letting in goals as well. Everton scored 3 against them, Swansea 2 and Burnley 1. Surely Manchester City at home will score as well. Could Chelsea outscore Manchester City? It all depends on Manchester City midfield. Nasri and Toure are hopelessly out of form so it’s going to be Silva and Fernandinho against Fabregas and Matic. If Manchester City realistically want to have a go at the title then they’ll have to win this match.
Tottenham Hotspurs 3 – 0 West Bromwich Albion
Our analysis team here at this blog is a fan of Mauricio Pochettino and we think that Chadli, Lamela and Adebayor will prove to be more than a handful for WBA defenders.
Westham United 0 – Liverpool 2
Westham are flying so low under the radar that we had almost forgotten that they were in the league. With Sam Allardyce at the helm at Westham, we are confident that they will not be relegated but this is where our confidence ends. In another life, when Big Sam was Bolton’s manager we could have be been forgiven for thinking that they’ll give Liverpool a fight but it’s not even imaginable now. After having been humiliated by Ludogorets during the Champions League game on Wednesday Liverpool will come at Westham all guns blazing and we think that they’ll win.
