10 MOST POPULAR STUDY PROGRAMS IN GERMANY FOR MEN & WOMEN PART I

In a survey, the study in Germany evaluation portal STUDY CHECK has released a ranking of top ten most popular study programs by male and female students in Germany. This portal represents a total of 13,400 different courses of study in Germany. Despite a wide range of courses available, most students opt for following popular subjects such as engineering, business administration, law or medicine.

Free education in Germany is a big factor why many students go on to pursue a Masters degree after having completed their undergraduate studies.

BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION POPULAR AMONG BOTH GENDERS

Business Administration programs provide you with fundamental business knowledge and general management skills such as personnel management and administration. As a specialist in marketing, supply chain management and logistics etc. one can have a very good career and salary prospects.

According to a study by the Higher Education Information System GmbH (HIS), 78% of graduates with a masters degree in Business Administration find a job within 3 to 6 months after having completed their studies.

A bachelor degree in Business Administration can fetch you approximately 3,800  gross per month. The Masters degree promises higher salaries of up to € 6,800 gross per month. It depends on the area of your specialization, your position in the company and your field of operation.

The German studies came out as the number 2 most popular course among women. In these courses almost 75% of German students are female. This includes German Studies, German language and German literature.

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING FOR MEN

Mechanical Engineering is one of the most popular courses of study for male students in Germany. 45 030 men were enrolled in the winter semester 2012/2013 for a degree in mechanical engineering.
